FLUFF MEME
Look, sometimes it's fun to just play out something completely sappy and self-indulgent. So let's do that here! This meme is for fluff and hurt/comfort stuff, shippy or not; AU, game setting, whatever.
Prose or brackets welcome; prompts below are just for kickstarting ideas if necessary, so don't worry about those if you've got something else in mind or just want to work things out separately. Let me know if you want to start something here, since I have it set up not to email me.
① Cuddling → For whatever reason, characters feel like being close and cuddling.
② Pillow talk → After the main event, characters are up for some pillow talk.
③ Celebration → Anniversary or some other big event is taking place and characters want to celebrate!
④ Love confession → Someone has finally decided to confess their love and today is the day!
⑤ Appreciation → You feel the need to show appreciation for that person closest to you, even if it's just a pat on the back.
⑥ Apologies → You made a mistake and now it's time to make it up in some way you know the other can't refuse!
⑦ Get back together → Why did you break up again exactly? Whatever the reason, it was a huge mistake and you both know you can work through it.
⑧ Date night → You've planned for a wonderful night together and you can't wait to get it started.
⑨ Family → You've either found out you're pregnant or you've already got that addition to your family.
⑩ Marriage → You're just about to get hitched or maybe you're enjoying your honeymoon. Maybe you've been together for years now! Whatever the case, it's time for that next big step.
⑪ Meeting again → It's time for that happy reunion finally!
⑫ Love at first sight → For whatever reason, you are now insanely in love with the first person you set eyes on.
⑬ Flirtation → You can't resist to do a little bit of harmless flirtation all of a sudden.
⑭ In the snow → Look outside! It's a winter wonderland, so why not go out and play in it?
⑮ Engagement → You've planned it all out and now it's time to finally pop the question.
⑯ Friendly games → You've set up the game station or board games for a friendly competition!
⑰ Gift → Time to give that special someone a gift just because.
⑱ Recovery → You're taking care of someone who's just recovered from some illness or injury.
⑲ Healing → Time to help mend that someone who's been through hell and back.
⑳ Better than ever → You've finally got everything you've ever wanted here. What is your ideal life and who does it include?

FOR EMA, the most terrible awkward 4 i guess
He really, really should have said something earlier, but he didn't first because he didn't think of it, and once he did he... just didn't know how to say it. He doesn't know if he should, or if he's just overthinking things again.
Why does this have to be so difficult?
Well, he's not solving anything but just not mentioning it to her, and he knows that the longer this goes on the worse it's going to get. So he's got to say something, one way or another.
Apparently, that way is by spending several minutes trying to carry on a conversation as if nothing is wrong despite obviously avoiding eye contact, and then finally managing to sort of mumble, "Hey, should-- I think maybe we should talk about something."
no subject
"Is this a serious kind of conversation?"
Ginko kind of uses this tone of voice for a lot of stuff.
no subject
"I... know the timing might not be the best. Sorry." Is there a good time for this? He really should stop worrying about that so much before he hurts himself or something.
no subject
"Should I be sitting up for this? Because I just got comfy."
no subject
Okay if he keeps putting this off he's just going to end up backing out of saying anything at all. Ginko hunches his shoulders a little, examining the ceiling very carefully. "What... are we doing here, exactly?"

it's time for illness bs
Of course, under normal circumstances, she doesn't feel like death itself. Which is why she's mostly spent the day curled up on her side on her too-small (read: human-sized) mattress, making frustrated grumbles and growls after each burst of wet-sounding coughing.
no subject
It's almost 3pm by the time Newt abandons his desk to go and find her, wincing as he hears the coughing from up the hallway. He pokes his head around the doorframe, tilting his head.
"Hey... you okay in here? You haven't even shouted at me once today."
no subject
You'd think he had given her his cold intentionally, from the irritation in her voice.
no subject
"I didn't even think it was possible for you to get human viruses," Newt offers, before crossing the rest of the distance and settling to sit on the bed next to her. He presses a hand against her forehead, which he's pretty sure won't give him any insight on what was going on but hey it's what his dad did to him when he was sick, and frowns at her.
"Symptoms?"

18 is made of pain
Edward hobbled his way up the steps of Ginko's apartment, clutching his arm and both wings dragging limply behind him. He hadn't even known he was being stalked until it was too late--there had been too many hunters for him to fight off on his own, but he'd put up a pretty good defense, he thought. But then the whistle came out, and...
Well, he's pretty thankful for that vampire, whoever they had been.
He's pretty messed up. His left arm is broken, as are both wings in multiple places. His knee is messed up something fierce but he can just barely walk on it, and his horns are cracked all the way through, and one broken off halfway down. He's littered with cuts and bruises, and if it weren't for that minotaur endurance he's about 90% certain he'd be passed out on the street.
Ed doesn't so much stop at Ginko's door as he just falls against it, and raps it weakly with his good hand. "Ginko?"
no subject
When he opens the door, he suddenly knows what it is. He catches hold of Ed with a quiet, startled sound, pulling him inside and shutting the door hurriedly. He pulls him over to the couch, setting him down carefully to sit on the couch. "--Ed! Ed, what happened? How bad is it?"
no subject
He is so not going to be alright. Ed pretty much falls onto the couch with a pained whimper, clutching his arm to his side. He can't even think about pulling his wings in, it hurts too much to even try.
no subject
Ginko swears under his breath, gritting his teeth as one hand curls into a fist for a moment. Nope, no, now is not the time, he's got to focus on helping Ed.
"Patching up is an understatement." He moves the thankfully short distance to grab his bag off its hook by the door, as well as the stack of wooden rods he's been accumulating for splints. Somehow, those seem to come in handy a lot here.
He crouches down in front of Ed, looking him over with a frown. "Do you think you could lie on your stomach? I want to deal with your wings first."

ZOOTOPIA AU BS, 1 i guess??
So, finally, Ginko makes his way to where he knows Newt works, making his way to the right room with a bag of cheap takeout in hand. He finally knocks on the frame of the open door a moment before stepping in.
"Hey, Newt, if your paws are in something dead you might wanna get them out." It's time for dinner, whether he's done working or not.
no subject
At first, Newt's nowhere to be seen, it's just Ginko and the dead shark which is angled so it's practically staring at the door, rows of teeth visible from its open mouth. But the gills almost appear the be moving--as if the thing was still alive and struggling to breathe. A webbed paw suddenly erupts from one of the gills, scrabbling around for something, before an angry squeak of frustration alerts Ginko to where Newt is. Inside the massive shark, too busy to have noticed Ginko yet.
no subject
He leans over to try to look kind of... into the shark from a different angle and speaks up again, louder this time.
"Hey! You planning on coming out of there or did you finally get eaten by one of your own dissection subjects?"
no subject
"Ginko! What're you doing here?"

morning after/kelpie and faerie bs for newt
That said, he also tends to sleep a lot. Which means that it's likely not until Newt stirs that he starts to actually wake up.
"...Mnn." He shifts a little, eyes squeezed shut as he tries to process the unfamiliar feeling of Newt cuddled up against his shoulder.
...Oh. Wait. Now he remembers.
Suddenly he is very, very still.
"...Um."
no subject
As Ginko's voice suddenly booms around him, Newt breathes in deeply and shoots his head up suddenly, staring at Ginko's ear.
"--Whuswrong?" he babbles, still very much asleep, looking around for his glasses out of habit.
no subject
He's just kind of panicking is what. He turns his head enough to actually look at Newt, his ears twitching slightly. He looks... slightly nervous, honestly. "You... you remember what happened, right?"
Why wouldn't he, Ginko.
no subject
"Holy s-shit dude!" he pants, wings quivering. A giant face wasn't how he was expecting to wake up this morning, and once everything comes rushing back, Newt squirms his way out of the little nest he made for himself quickly, moving so that he's hovering sleepily over Ginko's chest instead of up close and personal.
"You gotta warn a guy when you get all up in his space like that ok?" he rubs at his eyes, groaning. "I'm still small. I'm so sick of this bullshit."
Your question was ignored, sorry Ginko. He drops a couple of inches, obviously still tired.

8-ish?? does it count as a date when it's mostly to get the kid used to dad #2
Today, though, they've finally got an opportunity - and Grant has a plan.
...Well, sort of. It's not really a step-by-step thing so much as it's "get Shiro and Chip onto neutral ground and hope for the best". But it's a plan.
"Alright, where to first?" Grant looks over at his two companions, keeping a hand resting gently on Chip's shoulder for the time being.
no subject
The entire trip over they've been quiet, only giving one word answers and refusing to look in Shiro's direction. Here at the zoo they're glued to Grant's side, one hand curled tightly into the fabric of their dad's shirt. They look up at him, then around with a scowl they're determined to keep in place.
"...can we go to the bears?"
no subject
Though he hasn't tried to touch either of them yet. For obvious reasons.
"Bears sound great to me." There's no trace of placating or anything in his words -- he sounds like he'd genuinely like to go, himself. "I haven't been here in a long time."
no subject
He looks over the surrounding signs before nodding in the direction they need to go and starting forward with a quiet laugh. "Seems like it's been a while for all of us. Hopefully we won't manage to get lost, huh?"
