Look, sometimes it's fun to just play out something completely sappy and self-indulgent. So let's do that here! This meme is for fluff and hurt/comfort stuff, shippy or not; AU, game setting, whatever.

Prose or brackets welcome; prompts below are just for kickstarting ideas if necessary, so don't worry about those if you've got something else in mind or just want to work things out separately. Let me know if you want to start something here, since I have it set up not to email me.

That bump gets a small surprised chirp, and he turns around, balancing up on Ginko's knee, putting webbed paws on his muzzle to stop himself from falling into the tub. He leans up and presses his nose against the panda's, whiskers twitching forward as he presses a small kiss there.

"Yeah, I know, but you know what I want without asking. It's kinda cute."

Ginko laughs - and sets about rubbing the shampoo into the fur on Newt's chest. Still got the whole shark oil thing to deal with.

He gives a slightly embarrassed huff, ears twitching. "--ah, well. I do try."

The otter squirms under Ginko's hands, trying to get out of his grip. His back being rubbed was good, but that's tickling and Ginko probably knows it. He uses his tail to splash up some of the bath water into Ginko's face.

"Ah! Dude! No! Stop that tickles!"

This time his laughter ends up mixed with spluttering. "--Hey! C'mon, how was I supposed to know?"

He definitely knew.

"You literally say that every time this happaaahhhahah s-stop!"

Now he's straight up trying to claw his way out of the bath to get away from you.

Ginko finally stops tickling him, practically collapsing from laughter himself. "Alright, alright! But seriously, you've got to finish cleaning up."

Newt stops trying to escape and ducks under the surface of the water instead, swimming around under it in the small amount of space around Ginko's body. He ends up resurfacing between the panda's legs to crawl up on his stomach. He rolls over, staring up at Ginko as he cleans the droplets from his whiskers.

"You're not the boss of me."

Oh are you kidding him right now that's way too cute to be allowed. Ginko huffs scoops up some water in his paws, then drops it on top of Newt.

"Alright, you're free to keep smelling like a dead shark if you want. But you might have to sit outside or something to eat."

Newt splutters as the water is dumped on him, curling and jumping up so he's on his hind paws on Ginko's chest, paws going up around his muzzle.

"I don't smell that bad anymore, right?"

He laughs and sets his paws on Newt's back to keep him stable.

"Okay, it is a lot better, I'll give you that.

The otter presses his nose against Ginko's, leaning back against those huge paws.

"I'm pretty sure it's only in my bottom coat. I'll get it later. I'm waaaay too hungry."

"I guess that's acceptable." He nudges Newt off his chest so he can haul himself out of the tub and grab a towel. "I'll get dressed and go reheat the food, alright? You should get some fresh clothes."

Newt bounces off, splashing down into the water to watch the panda soak the entire floor with all the water clinging to him. He can't help but grin fondly, and floats around on his back, watching him, enjoying the water for just a little longer.

"Yeah, cool," he says, shutting his eyes a little as he goes about washing his face. "--Hey, wanna watch a movie? I feel like we haven't done that in forever."

He shakes himself off a little before even trying to use the towel; he knows how much water his fur can hold onto, okay. Of course, this means there's just that much more water getting spattered around the bathroom, but that can be dealt with later.

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Any preference for what?"

With an aquatic inhabitant, their bathroom is pretty well equipped for being wet a lot of the time.

Newt continues to float around the bathtub, scooping up water to get the remaining oil off his chest.

"We haven't watched Godzilla in agggggggesss!"

Ginko gives a huff, glancing over his shoulder as he sets about scrubbing at his fur with the towel.

"Why'd I even bother asking? But I can go ahead and set that up, too."

"Who freaking knows?" he shouts, before diving again.

Newt spends the next ten minutes in the tub, getting the instinct of swimming out of his system before draining it and jumping out. He shakes his fur, grabbing one of the smaller towels to dry himself off with but ends up leaving it on the bathroom floor to wander the house in the fur instead, walking through the kitchen so that he could get to their small laundry room and root around in the clean basket for clothes.

"Hey, have you seen my MIT hoodie? I can't find it."

Considering the likelihood that Newt still won't be out for a while, Ginko decides to get the DVD into the player before reheating the food. He's leaning against a counter and gives a quiet snort when Newt walks through.

"Don't think so; might be at the bottom of the basket. You planning on wearing any pants with that?"

"Maybe. I haven't decided yet," he shoots back, before pulling the larger panda clothes out to try and sort through his own smaller possessions. He might just be throwing them on the floor. Why did you want him to come home again?

Ginko leans over to watch as he goes through the laundry, raising an eyebrow. "You know, we could get out a second basket or something. Unless you want to run that stuff through a second time."

He's almost buried in the previously neatly folded laundry, only his squirming legs and tail poking out of one of Ginko's shirts before he gives a soft jubilant squeak and pulls himself and the aforementioned hoodie out. He pulls it over his head and grabs underwear so that he's a little less naked, and then comes back out, pulling the hood up over his ears and tightening the cords. One immediately goes into his mouth to chew on--which by the condition of the string looks like a bad habit he's had for years.

"Did you say something?"

...Okay, yeah, that's way too adorable. Ginko can't even PRETEND to be disapproving. He lets out a burst of laughter and turns to move their food into the microwave.

"Nothing important. D'you want something to drink?"
