Look, sometimes it's fun to just play out something completely sappy and self-indulgent. So let's do that here! This meme is for fluff and hurt/comfort stuff, shippy or not; AU, game setting, whatever.

Prose or brackets welcome; prompts below are just for kickstarting ideas if necessary, so don't worry about those if you've got something else in mind or just want to work things out separately. Let me know if you want to start something here, since I have it set up not to email me.


① Cuddling → For whatever reason, characters feel like being close and cuddling.
② Pillow talk → After the main event, characters are up for some pillow talk.
③ Celebration → Anniversary or some other big event is taking place and characters want to celebrate!
④ Love confession → Someone has finally decided to confess their love and today is the day!
⑤ Appreciation → You feel the need to show appreciation for that person closest to you, even if it's just a pat on the back.

"That makes it sound a little like I actually don't, but I do appreciate the effort. Who knows, maybe someday I'll think of somewhere indoors to go."

"You have a lot of options. And it's not like we're on a deadline."

[onegreeneye]

"True. And I guess there's always the option of suggesting places at random until something works."

Is he joking? We just don't know.

[skyentologist]

"...You could at least guess based on what I like."

Ema's a little insulted.

[onegreeneye]

Oops. He's just gonna make an effort to backtrack a little there.

"'Course. Sorry, didn't quite think that one through - to be fair, though, knowing my track record with things like this, there's going to be some definite trial and error going on anyway."

[skyentologist]

"I'm mostly joking. Seriously, though, some snacks would be great. Especially since you made me chase you into the parking lot."

[onegreeneye]

He nods, taking a small step back and nodding toward the small kitchen area. He still doesn't quite move away enough yet to have to remove his hands from behind her back.

"Alright. Do you want me to get you something? I've got... something." He grimaces a little. He realizes the kinds of food he tends to keep around don't quite fall in line with Ema's preferences. "I might have some nuts or something. Or dried meat - regular meat, I mean, not... yeah."

[skyentologist]

"I meant in general, not now."

Ema's trying very hard not to laugh. Her lips do twitch a little.

"We're kind of busy."

[onegreeneye]

"...Oh. Right, I thought you were saying you were hungry now, because of having to... Sorry."

He shifts back toward her again easily enough, though his ears are still flicked sheepishly back and down. He certainly seems to be on a roll today, huh.

[skyentologist]

"Just start thinking of future snacks. Scientifically."

Here, she gives him a quick peck on the lips.

[onegreeneye]

That gets a quiet laugh, more of his nervous tension from a moment ago melting away.

"Alright, I'll keep that in mind. Seems like we should start testing... maybe this weekend?"

[skyentologist]

"I think I might be free. I'll have to check my schedule."

She puts on a mock thinking pose.

[onegreeneye]

He snorts softly, his tail flicking a little.

"Come to think of it, I'm not sure how much of a chance I've got. You must be pretty busy already."

[skyentologist]

"Lots of monsters to see, lots of things to do..."

It's getting harder to hold a straight face, so she nuzzles into his neck again.

[onegreeneye]

Ginko gives a quiet, pleased hum, pressing another quick kiss on Ema before letting his cheek rest against her head.

"Not a lot of room for experimenting with uncommunicative trolls."

As if she hasn't been finding time for that already.

[skyentologist]

"I'll make time. It's for science, after all."

She leans a bit more of her weight onto him, letting herself become a bit of dead weight.

[onegreeneye]

"Good to hear you're willing to sacrifice so much for the sake of discovery."

He shifts a little to make up for the difference, adjusting easily to support her weight against him. There's a quiet, happy rumbling coming from his chest.

[skyentologist]

"Hey, we're both scientists, of a sort. Think of it like you're studying a mushi thing."

Her voice is getting a little drowsy, lulled by the warmth of Ginko's body against hers.

[onegreeneye]

"To be fair, studying mushi tends to be a lot simpler. But I guess I can try."

He notices that, his ears giving a slight flick as he moves one hand up to push her hair back from her face a little. "Do you want to go lie down or something?"

[skyentologist]

"I deserve a nap. And cuddles. Maybe not in that order."

Ema was never much of a cuddler before Ginko. She blames the fur.

[onegreeneye]

"I'd certainly say you do." He lets go enough to step back a bit, but still keeps an arm wrapped loosely around her. "Couch, or bed?"

[skyentologist]

"Tough call. Couch?"

Hopefully that way they won't sleep for too long.

[onegreeneye]

"Works for me."

The couch is closer anyway. He leads her over and lies down carefully, making sure to keep his rocky back against the couch and that Ema has enough room.
