Look, sometimes it's fun to just play out something completely sappy and self-indulgent. So let's do that here! This meme is for fluff and hurt/comfort stuff, shippy or not; AU, game setting, whatever.

Prose or brackets welcome; prompts below are just for kickstarting ideas if necessary, so don't worry about those if you've got something else in mind or just want to work things out separately. Let me know if you want to start something here, since I have it set up not to email me.

① Cuddling → For whatever reason, characters feel like being close and cuddling.
② Pillow talk → After the main event, characters are up for some pillow talk.
③ Celebration → Anniversary or some other big event is taking place and characters want to celebrate!

"I'd hoped it wasn't. Apparently I shouldn't have bothered." Grump grump grump. Of course, it wasn't like she hadn't kind of expected that this would happen eventually, paranoid pessimist that she is. Her skin is a bit drier than usual, but otherwise doesn't feel too different.

"A lot of coughing and sneezing. Mucus buildup in the throat, cranial sacs, and sensory organs. General fatigue. And my head hurts."

He hums thoughtfully for a moment, pulling his hand back and looking down at his fingers for damp that should be there. He ends up just curling his hand shut when he doesn't find it, wprrying his bottom lip.

"Cranial sacs. Hot," he says with a weak smile. "I mean, I know how to handle a common cold if you're human but I don't know of I'm just gonna fuck you up even more if I try anything. So I'm gonna go with bed rest. Gotta recharge those batteries."

She rolls over with a frustrated grumble, coughing a couple more times. "Thanks, I love being told to do what I'm already doing."

The sarcasm in her voice is practically tangible.

Newt gives a heavy sigh, watching her back as she coughs with a wince. He doubts anything he says is going to make her feel better, she's difficult enough when she isn't sick.

"Want me to get you anything?"

Myaxx is quiet for a couple seconds, then turns just enough to look at him over her shoulder again.

"...Water might be good."

Newt gives a short nod and pushes up off the bed, leaving her for a few minutes without so much a word. When he comes back, he's holding a bottle of water, a steaming cup of something that smells sweet and spicy all at the same time, a plastic bag full of papers, assorted cold remedies and potato chips and balanced under an arm is his tablet. Newt puts everything down on the tiny bedside table, and pulls the covers up, nudging Myaxx a little with his foot.

"Hey, move over. I'm working from bed today," he says simply, before cramming his way into their bed. Once he's settled, he reaches over and grabs the steaming cup, offering it to Myaxx.

"Drink this. It's a traditional Geiszler cold remedy. Your biology should be fine with it since there's no actual drugs in there. My dad used to give it to me whenever I was sick."

She grumbles but scoots over to give him room, then sits up to take the cup. She leans forward to sniff it tentatively, glancing at Newt before taking a sip. "What is in it?"

Once she's grabbed the cup he goes about setting up a little work area, shoving he paper in front of him as he shimmies under the covers and sorts everything out.

"Uhh," he starts, pulling out the papers and littering them across the bed. "Ginger, honey, lemon mostly. There's garlic in there too. Like, a lot of garlic. It tastes like shit but you feel better after, I promise."

Myaxx stares at him dubiously for a moment. Then she looks back to the cup in her hands, and, after a moment of hesitation, gulps down the contents as quickly as she can.

She immediately coughs a couple times and grimaces. "--Yeah, you were right about it tasting like shit."

He can't help but give a sympathetic chuckle, knowing exactly what downing that remedy tasted like. He's been there several times, and it never gets any better. But goddamn did it help.

"Can't say I didn't warn you," he says with a shrug, taking the mug off of her to replace it with her favourite warm drink without pause as he continues to sort paper.

"If you don't feel better in an hour, you can punch me."

She blinks and takes the next mug, glancing at Newton before huffing quietly. It turns quickly into a cough, but that subsides after a couple seconds, and she takes a careful sip of the drink in her hands.

"I'll hold you to that. Not sure how much damage I could do right now, anyway, of course."

He can't help but grin when she huffs, bumping his shoulder against hers as he unlocks the tablet to start writing up some of the eligible notes he'd taken. Usually he'd be writing straight from the dictaphone, but he doubts Myaxx needs to hear his voice anymore than she already is with a headache.

"I dunno, I bet you could squish me if you wanted to."

She elbows him back, very lightly.

"Probably. I mean, I guess I could just sit on you or something, but that would mean moving."

He squirms against her elbow, trying not to show how she'd gotten a tender spot from where he'd been in an altercation with one of the cybertronians earlier that morning. They don't mean to grip hard, but damn. He's got a few bruises from being put up on a high shelf because Ratchet can't handle a few pranks.

"Moving doesn't sound like a good idea right now. I guess you'll just have to trust me that I know ...eeeeenough about your biology that I sort of know what I'm doing? Yeah, let's go with that."

If she weren't so sick, Myaxx probably would have realized something was wrong anyway; as it is, though, she doesn't seem to notice anything.

"Since when do I trust anyone?" It's not actually entirely serious - as indicated when she shifts to get more comfortable, leaning against Newt in the process. She's still careful not to put too much weight on him, though. Why do humans have to be so small?

It doesn't help that Newt is particularly small for a human as it is.

"Somewhere down the line you fell for my charm and wit and find yourself trusting me way more than you think," he smiles, shifting to get more comfortable against the weight pressing into his side. "You're so Tsundere sometimes, I can't even deal with it."

Myaxx snorts. "'Charm and wit'. Sure, let's call it that. What does that word mean, anyway?"
