Look, sometimes it's fun to just play out something completely sappy and self-indulgent. So let's do that here! This meme is for fluff and hurt/comfort stuff, shippy or not; AU, game setting, whatever.

Prose or brackets welcome; prompts below are just for kickstarting ideas if necessary, so don't worry about those if you've got something else in mind or just want to work things out separately. Let me know if you want to start something here, since I have it set up not to email me.


① Cuddling → For whatever reason, characters feel like being close and cuddling.
② Pillow talk → After the main event, characters are up for some pillow talk.
③ Celebration → Anniversary or some other big event is taking place and characters want to celebrate!

Newt's needed a good nights sleep for weeks, and after an evening like last night he's sure to get it. He's pretty much stayed curled up in the crook of Ginko's shoulder, only a little tangled in his ridiculously long hair when his wings twitched in his sleep, and the low thrum of Ginko's pulse actually helped keep him relaxed. He didn't even have nightmares, which was a big deal.

As Ginko's voice suddenly booms around him, Newt breathes in deeply and shoots his head up suddenly, staring at Ginko's ear.

"--Whuswrong?" he babbles, still very much asleep, looking around for his glasses out of habit.

"I, um... I mean, nothing, exactly, I just. Uh."

He's just kind of panicking is what. He turns his head enough to actually look at Newt, his ears twitching slightly. He looks... slightly nervous, honestly. "You... you remember what happened, right?"

Why wouldn't he, Ginko.

Newt's eyes come into focus when Ginko turns his head, and his entire body suddenly lights up in fright. He trills loudly--a noise he wasn't even aware he could make--and buries his face against Ginko's jawline to catch his breath.\

"Holy s-shit dude!" he pants, wings quivering. A giant face wasn't how he was expecting to wake up this morning, and once everything comes rushing back, Newt squirms his way out of the little nest he made for himself quickly, moving so that he's hovering sleepily over Ginko's chest instead of up close and personal.

"You gotta warn a guy when you get all up in his space like that ok?" he rubs at his eyes, groaning. "I'm still small. I'm so sick of this bullshit."

Your question was ignored, sorry Ginko. He drops a couple of inches, obviously still tired.

Ginko jumps a little, his ears pinning back, and finds himself vaguely annoyed at himself for a moment. But then again, maybe he should just be glad he didn't turn into a horse this time.

"S-sorry." He lifts his good hand to push some excess hair out of his face, glancing off to the side at some corner of the room. "Uh... I'm sure you'll figure it out."

Apparently he hasn't quite got the nerve up to ask a second time just yet.

Newt groans, rubbing angrily at his face as he sinks down to Ginko's chest, plopping himself right on his sternum so he can sit down and try not to freak out about his size.

"Ughhh, but everybody's been saying that for days now. I'm supposed to be smart, why can't I figure this out?"

He scrubs his hands through his hair in frustration, and looks up at Ginko with his hair and antenna sticking all over the place. Suddenly the previous evenings escapades rush back to him, and he has to lean back on his palms.

"Oh. Shit."

He's just about to reply that Newt is smart, this stuff is just hard to figure out, when it becomes apparent that Newt does, in fact, remember what happened. Ginko presses back against his pillow, so slightly that it could easily be mistaken for him just sinking into it.

"...Yeah. So."

Newt stares back at Ginko for a moment, glowing a little bluer as he recalls everything that happened, and ends up burying his face in his insect hands, giving a short laugh.

"Okay, so. This is awkward," he starts, carding his hands through the small clump of hair he has left and looking up at Ginko. "Or, well. It's only awkward if we make it awkward. Yeah."

"...Right. Only if we... if we make it awkward." He's a little worried they may have already done that, but anyway.

His lips press together and he forces himself to look at Newt. "Are you... alright, I guess? I mean, I didn't... roll over on you or anything?"

[kaijugrrroupie]

"Yeah! We're two consenting adults! We're allowed to have fun! And it not be weird the next day," he says, pretty sure he's just burying himself into a deeper pit. "I'm making this worse, right? Damn."

He's glad when Ginko makes for a change of topic, his wings flitting softly as he checks himself over.

"No, not that I remember... I mean. Actually, it was kinda the best nights sleep in forever?"

[onegreeneye]

"Maybe... maybe a little bit," he admits. Look, he doesn't want Newt to feel bad, but, uh. He's making it a little worse.

But he doesn't really want to dwell on that, so he's glad to focus on Newt's reply. "Well, that's... good to hear, at least. ...Come to think of it, I slept pretty well, too, I think."

"Getting rid of pent up frustration is a great way to get a good night's sleep. Totally. Yup," he starts, chewing on his bottom lip again before flitting up into the air and moving himself so he's not actually on Ginko anymore. Didn't want to get stuck on him or anything again, or. Make things even awkward.

"And I kinda really needed to... do both, actually."

Newton, stop talking.

"Huh. Guess that's, uh... that's good to know."

...Okay, he meant the first part, but holy shit Newt. Ginko looks away hurriedly, clearing his throat. "Uh... glad to have helped."

Oh god what the fuck what is he supposed to say here.
