Pretty basic concept here, sometimes teenage girls have magic powers for fighting evil (or doing evil if that's how they roll) and that's just how it is. Usually it's a secret but maybe it's not?? Maybe there are also ways to get magic that don't require you to be a girl.

Who knows, it's up to you, this is a loose-concept/AU meme! Just warn for your violence/existential horror/embarrassing teenage sexual tension in the subject lines.

1. First Transformation: Surprise, you've got magic powers! And they come with a costume that you… probably like? Maybe you don't, I don't know your life.

2. Into Battle: Possibly connected to that last prompt, oh dang, there’s some kind of monster or something. Whether you’re new at this or not, you might wanna fight that before it wreaks too much havoc.

3. Confrontation: Those monsters (or disasters, or brainwashed minions, or whatever) have to be coming from somewhere. Whether it's the first time or the fiftieth, it's time for the hero(es) to come face to face with their nemesis.

4. Prep Time: Teams, whether they're good or evil, tend to work better if they have some kind of a game plan. Or maybe you can't predict your opponent's next move so you're just doing some team-building exercises, who knows.

5. Hostage Situation: Someone's been captured! Maybe the villains have taken a heroic magical girl prisoner, maybe the good guys have siccessfully captured one of their opponents, or maybe you're just a bystander/non-magical ally/love interest who… may or may not know why you've been kidnapped. It's a little awkward, but maybe this could be a good chance to talk.

6. Slice of Life: Not even magical girls can fight all the time, alright - but there's always a risk of worlds colliding. Maybe you're getting some well-deserved downtime, trying to go on a date, or just going to school like a normal teen. And… well, time will tell if it stays normal.

7. The Secret Come Out: You probably hoped this day wouldn't come (unless you were actually kind of hoping it would, like a weirdo), but here it is. Someone's found out who you are. Is it worse if they're a loved one or just some rando, who knows!

8. Wildcard: I can't tell you how to live your life, do what you want!

"Two?"

Frisk frowns, peeking out both sides of the chronosaur to look around, but...no monsters. Not even anyone wandering down the street.

"Two what? I don't see anything..."

Reira just stares a bit more, not saying much of anything else. Perhaps it's a bit telling that her eyes don't move away from Frisk, however.

"...one...with two..." How very, very odd, really.

Well, THAT got Chara's hackles right up. Frisk actually flinches from the sudden rush of emotion, and their eyes are a little too wide when they turn back.

"You can--?"

The moment passes and Frisk is back to 'casual and friendly', but it's pretty clear that both kids are off-balance. "'Re you, um, a medium? My family are, too!"

Frisk isn't the only one with wide eyes- Chara's burst of feeling is something Reira picks up on after all, and she draws back immediately.

And doesn't respond. She doesn't make much of a sound at all except for the kind of heavy, hastened breathing that comes with fearful surprise. Shouldn't have said that, she thinks, eyes carefully trained on wherever Frisk's hands may be. Shouldn't have said that, not at all,

It hurts, to see that reaction. It hurts a lot, actually, and Frisk swallows hard before carefully arranging themself as non-threatening as possible. Fully facing Reira, legs crossed, both hands in their lap well away from the knife at their hip. Their expression is blank from shame, and they lower their head as if to try and hide behind bangs that aren't quite long enough for that any longer.

"We won't hurt you. Promise."

It doesn't feel like a lie. Not that she's ever been a lie detector but it doesn't feel dishonest, like something slimy lurking in wait. It feels, if anything, real. And though they're still drawn back, the breathing at least seems to steady- even if the only way they've changed their position in the meantime is to move onto their front, curled up like some sort of turtle with their back against the wall.

"....who..?" she manages to repeat, staring back. "...wh... both- who are..."

"Ginko called us." Their voice is even, neutral but placating at the same time. "She said you needed a better place t' sleep, an' she knows my Mom and Dad are nice."

They pause for a moment, chewing on their lip and not looking up. "It'd be harder for anyone t' hurt you there. It's safe from mean ghosts, an' me 'n Chara can fight monsters off."

Does she know who Ginko is? No. She didn't exactly get a name. What she does hear is the word 'mom', and she draws back impossibly further when she hears it.

"...not her," she squeaks, not especially caring that 'mom' was followed by 'dad' and she's never really heard anyone use that term but. "Not mom. Not her...!"

Maybe protect her from her mom instead. That'll be an idea.

Frisk's head jerks up, and the stare at Reira for a few seconds. Chara watches from within, all tension tinged with sympathy, and Frisk slowly shakes their head.

"...not yours. My mom won't hurt you."

Well. Now there's no answer again- but it is fairly clear that she understood the other. Confusion grows evident on Reira's face after all- what the heck do you mean, 'your' mom, isn't there just 'mom'??

But she doesn't say that- simply staring confusedly, waiting for the other to explain what that even means.

...

At least it feels like they care.

She wants to think that matters, anyway.
