Magical Girl Meme

Pretty basic concept here, sometimes teenage girls have magic powers for fighting evil (or doing evil if that's how they roll) and that's just how it is. Usually it's a secret but maybe it's not?? Maybe there are also ways to get magic that don't require you to be a girl.
Who knows, it's up to you, this is a loose-concept/AU meme! Just warn for your violence/existential horror/embarrassing teenage sexual tension in the subject lines.
1. First Transformation: Surprise, you've got magic powers! And they come with a costume that you… probably like? Maybe you don't, I don't know your life.
2. Into Battle: Possibly connected to that last prompt, oh dang, there’s some kind of monster or something. Whether you’re new at this or not, you might wanna fight that before it wreaks too much havoc.
3. Confrontation: Those monsters (or disasters, or brainwashed minions, or whatever) have to be coming from somewhere. Whether it's the first time or the fiftieth, it's time for the hero(es) to come face to face with their nemesis.
4. Prep Time: Teams, whether they're good or evil, tend to work better if they have some kind of a game plan. Or maybe you can't predict your opponent's next move so you're just doing some team-building exercises, who knows.
5. Hostage Situation: Someone's been captured! Maybe the villains have taken a heroic magical girl prisoner, maybe the good guys have siccessfully captured one of their opponents, or maybe you're just a bystander/non-magical ally/love interest who… may or may not know why you've been kidnapped. It's a little awkward, but maybe this could be a good chance to talk.
6. Slice of Life: Not even magical girls can fight all the time, alright - but there's always a risk of worlds colliding. Maybe you're getting some well-deserved downtime, trying to go on a date, or just going to school like a normal teen. And… well, time will tell if it stays normal.
7. The Secret Come Out: You probably hoped this day wouldn't come (unless you were actually kind of hoping it would, like a weirdo), but here it is. Someone's found out who you are. Is it worse if they're a loved one or just some rando, who knows!
8. Wildcard: I can't tell you how to live your life, do what you want!

One could almost say she didn't hear the other. Almost.
...She still seems afraid. Perhaps more than before. "...magic..." Deep breaths- in. Out. In-
"...She said...magic..." It almost looks like they'll get somewhere.
And then they don't. "...no." Uh oh. "...no. ....No..."
'Do you hear something Bloom?' 'What would we hear? I... ...She hasn't spoken at all since we ran...' 'But I thought I heard-'
There is a short trio of screeches from outside, which seems to line up with when Reira presses her back against the wall of the shelter. ...Still repeating 'no' under her breath.
no subject
Ginko swears under her breath, considering her options for the moment. She doesn't really have any way of avoiding the familiar squad by now, and running would just look suspicious. She doubts she's gonna be able to calm the kid down before they get here, either, and trying would probably be riskier than it's worth.
"...Sorry about that. Hang on." Decision made, she ducks out of that entrance and stands by the structure, turning to face the familiars directly - and to address them.
Perhaps weirdly, given that she followed them here to talk to their charge behind their backs, she looks kind of annoyed.
"This is the 'roof' you were talking about? This is no place to leave a kid."
no subject
And then darts past, shoving at the shoulder to get Ginko 'away' while she heads inside.
"Eh!! Bloom-!"
"Tell them nothing, I need to help her away..!"
"But, but..! It took so long to find this one..!!"
So they say, before looking to Ginko themselves. They seem just as consumed by fear as Bloom- and indeed Reira- was. The witch and pilot both nervously huddle, and gulp.
Eventually- "Y...You know, w...We're a lot more than we look..!" the pilot tries.
"Um, um...That's right..! I...We've still got things, even without real partners-!" the witch fumbles, brandishing her broom/bell.
no subject
Then she turns back to the others and just... sighs. She's only been getting involved in this shit for like twenty minutes and she's exhausted. This is so stupid. "Relax, I've got no interest in fighting you. Actually, I'd... really rather not. You guys don't really seem evil or anything, just..."
Well, to her credit, she trails off instead of just calling them stupid outright. Hell, that might not even be fair; she doesn't know how long these guys have been doing this - and, judging by their charge's age, it probably isn't long.
Stupid or not, though, the fact remains that she really doubts this kid is going to be safe in their care for long. "What do you mean, you don't have partners? Is that why there's three of you hanging around one girl?"
no subject
"Hey hey wait, we're not supposed to answer questions..!! And how do we know you're not the 'evil' one..!!"
The pilot gasps- as if she's totally uncovered something groundbreaking. "Oh!! That's right! Because Himika always says 'it's for good', but she wasn't good to any of us at all..!"
Apparently going into their own conversation, the witch puffs her cheeks and nods, focusing on her partner. "Exactly..! Exactly! And we know what Himika's good-things did..!"
Unless Ginko pays even an ounce of attention to business news, that name definitely means Zip.
no subject
She lets out a breath and pushes a hand through her hair, briefly exposing the patch strapped over her left eye. "Look, I understand being cautious, but if you could give me some way to prove my intentions here instead of just deflecting everything I say, that'd be great. I literally have no idea what you're talking about. All I know is that, apparently, a bunch of familiars are looking after a girl who's way too young to be in this situation. And, no offense, but from what I've seen I think I'm justified in being a little concerned for her safety. So, first off - would you mind telling me who the hell Himika is and what it is she did?"
no subject
"Y..Yeah!" What. "It's safer here!!"
"Much safer!"
"No more shocks!"
"No more chairs!"
"No more fake ghosts!"
"And time transforms," "And weapons tests," "And 'levels'," "And-"
The chain of things that don't make sense is shortening, as both appear to be breaking down as they go. "And..." "An....mnhhh..."
Specifically they break into tears. "She can't go back she can't she can't she can't..!!" "W-We promised, we promised Luna when she left even..!!"
no subject
"...From the sound of it, yeah, she absolutely shouldn't go back." She speaks more softly this time, though not too much for fear of not being heard over their crying. "But just because this is safer doesn't mean it's safe. Hell, if you're hiding from someone, a public park is far from secure; anyone can walk in here." She pulls a hand from her pocket long enough to gesture at... well, herself, for an example.
"If you want to protect her, you're going to need to find somewhere better for her to stay - and, like it or not, you might need to find at least one human you're willing to trust. One who's old enough to help."
no subject
"Well it can't be you!"
"It can't be anyone, can it..?"
"Definitely not..! Because Himika can get to anyone..!"
"Oh! That was why we found a place with no people..." The only reason there were no people was because no small children are at a park this time of year,
no subject
Just... no hesitation. If they won't trust her, that's fine. She digs around in her pocket before producing a simple, threadbare wallet, and flips it open. "Not me, but you will need someone. It might be tough, if this Himika can get to people so easily, but there's a fair number of people who wouldn't want to send a six-year-old off to get electrocuted, y'know?"
no subject
"E-Even if we trusted someone, it's not about her 'telling' them to do something..."
They're genuinely afraid for someone else's life it seems.
So that's a great sign.
no subject
"Then find someone who knows what they're getting into. I don't know what exactly this woman might be capable of, but there are some pretty powerful people around here." Herself included, technically, but she's not exactly the best when it comes to force and they've made it clear that they don't intend to entrust much to her.
She tugs a twenty-dollar bill out of her wallet, and holds it out to the familiars. "In the meantime, if you're gonna buy her food, this is probably closer to what you'll need than a handful of coins."
no subject
"...Paper? What will paper do?"
"Yes!! People use coins for things, I saw them..!!"
Hooboy.
no subject
She takes a deep breath, and asks, "What did you see them using the coins for?"
no subject
"It smelled good..."
"M-Mnn!! Definitely nicer than the stuff from before..."
"Maybe she'll be able to smile again..."
no subject
She's all for this kid smiling but seriously guys
no subject
Ah. They just happened to see someone using change to pay for fast food...
"I don't know, Bloom was the one who saw the number....we just know the number should be the number that you see..!"
This doesn't have to be your responsibility Ginko
You can walk away,
no subject
Ginko lets out a breath, and, after more digging in her wallet, pulls out a handful of coins and a couple more bills. "Okay. Here's the thing. Coins have different values, as do bills - like the one I tried to give you. The two values we use here are dollars and cents. One dollar is one hundred cents. Got it?"
no subject
Pilot just looks afraid. "We have to have a hundred coins just to make 'one'!?! We'll be looking forever..!! Why do people use things like that?"
Who knows, Commercialism just kinda Is,
no subject
"Not necessarily. One of these is one cent." She shuffles the coins in her hand to show them a penny. "The others have other values. But, you're right - you'll need a lot fewer if you use bills."
She holds up the twenty from before. "This is worth twenty dollars. Your friend said you needed 'fifteen', right? There'll probably be tax that adds a little more to the cost, but, if you use this, you'll have some left over - though I'm not sure, come to think of it, how you all are planning on going about buying anything if you won't let anyone help you."
no subject
"I don't know, mine said forty, for a big warm thing..."
Ah, but yes-
"If we just put the money there and take the thing, it works just the same doesn't it?"
They look so proud to be Wrong.
no subject
"...Fifteen was for food. I dunno if I can give you forty on top of that, but if you can settle for something cheaper for now I might be able to give you an extra twenty..." She frowns into her wallet. Boy this is wiping her out.
"And, no, that's absolutely not the same. Businesses need to be able to keep track of their sales, so something like that could get the employees in trouble. Especially if you're only leaving a handful of coins for something worth forty dollars."
no subject
Boy they sure are ignoring that last bit.
"Maybe...?"
There is a shrill shriek from behind the group. "What! What are you doing!" THE FLOWER IS BACK THE FLOWER IS BACK
no subject
"Could you calm down for a couple minutes? I'm not going to turn you in or anything." Jeez.
