GENERAL RP MEME

Want to play something out with one of my characters? Well here's a place for that! Basically any kind of thread is welcome here, gen, action, AU, game setting, etc - preferably staying PG-13 at most.

Prose and brackets are both welcome; the prompts below are for kickstarting ideas if you want, but you definitely don't have to stick to them!

Let me know if you start a thread here, since I have it set not to email me.

ACTION.
① Zombies → It's the zombie apocalypse, lock and load!
② Bar brawl → You had one too many drinks, said something wrong, and now you're being asked to take it outside.
③ Chase → You're caught in a high speed chase.
④ Gun fight → You're caught in a big shoot-out.
⑤ Fight with a friend → You're fighting with a friend, all out.
⑥ Interrogation → You're being interrogated for some offense you've done.
⑦ Aliens → Aliens are attacking and you're not going to take your probe laying down!
⑧ Final battle → This is it. The battle that will end all the fighting for you. Will you win? Will you get that peace you want?
⑨ Training → You're not actually fighting, just training for the inevitable.
⑩ No hope → You know this fight has no hope. It's not going to end well for anyone involved, but you can't turn away.
⑪ Sneaking in → You're stealing a diamond or sneaking in to kick some bad guy butt, but whatever it is, you have to practice stealth.
⑫ Fight for honor → You've been disgraced or someone you care about has, so it's time to fight for honor.
⑬ Blue wire → You're faced with a bomb that needs to be disarmed.
⑭ Apocalypse → The apocalypse finally happened and now you're left to scavenge and fight for whatever is left.
⑮ Sabotage → It's time to sabotage someone's plan! How is entirely up to you. Do you set up a bomb in their toilet? Do you double cross them at the last minute?
⑯ Big damn hero → You know you have to handle this one alone, so that means disarming or knocking unconscious the person who wants to join you.
⑰ Fight club → You know the rules... you're in an underground fighting ring and you're fighting with all you've got.
⑱ Threaten → You've just been sent here to rough them up a little, threaten them into behaving.
⑲ Showdown → Time for a cowboy-style showdown. Whoever draws the fastest wins.
⑳ War → You're caught in the middle of a war here. Remember to keep your chin up and keeping fighting.

① Nice meeting you → It's your first time meeting this person! You bumped into each other on the street, in a bar, at work... whatever!
② Drinks → You're out for drinks! Or just chilling at home with some beers. Wherever!
③ Lost → You're lost and you kind of need help finding your way to where you're going. A little help with directions?
④ Costume party → You're at a costume party, both of you are wearing masks. Do you keep the anonymity or take it off and see whose company you've been enjoying?
⑤ Wrong number → Oops, actually you didn't mean to call that person...
⑥ Drunk → You're already drunk! Drunk dialing, stumbling into someone, showing up unexpected... what type of drunk are you anyway? Aggressive, loving, happy? How does the other react?
⑦ Old friends → you haven't seen this person in a long time!
⑧ Rivals → you're suddenly rivals! Or maybe you have been all along...
⑨ Problems → you've got a problem with each other, just got in a huge fight, whatever. Try to work it out!
⑩ What are your intentions... → This person? They're dating a close friend, family member, etc. You need to find out if they're going to hurt them! Or you need to discuss your friend/family's dating choice.
⑪ I saw you → you saw the other person doing something bad and you need to confront them about it.
⑫ Sorry but no → the other person has feelings that you just don't share. They don't necessarily have to be romantic... maybe you just don't agree with their sudden desire to quit their job and start a business making tiny, fuzzy teddy bears.
⑬ My hero → you need to tell this person how much they mean to you. They've been your best friend or your role model your whole life and they need to know.
⑭ Enabler → you're enabling the other (or each other) to do something bad, really bad. Addiction, stealing, killing, or just any other self-destructive behavior.
⑮ Cooking → Time for an impromptu cooking lesson!
⑯ Oh, sure, I remember you... → It's that awkward moment when someone comes up and seems to know you, but you have no idea who they even are!
⑰ Rescue! → One of you was in trouble, but you came to the rescue!
⑱ Boss → One of you works under the other. Is your relationship good? Are you scheming things? Or do you hate each other?
⑲ Perfect crime → You and the other person have just pulled off the perfect crime... or you're planning to! What are you doing? The heist of the century, an assassination?
⑳ Movies → movie night! Maybe it's a sleepover. Whichever the case, it's time to eat a lot and have fun.

② Forced confessions → No matter what it is and no matter how hard you resist, you're going to be compelled to spill some deep dark secret!
③ Mind-reading → You've suddenly got the ability to read minds!

⑤ Awkward pick-up lines → You're compelled to use bad pickup lines on whoever is closest!
⑥ Back in School / Graduated → You're suddenly back in school! Or if you were already in it, you've aged and long since graduated!

⑨ Awkward conversations → So did you just fart or what? Any conversation goes, as long as it's embarrassing and awkward.
⑩ Crossdressing → For whatever reason, you're suddenly dressed in clothes of the opposite sex.
⑪ Suddenly naked → Oops! Your clothes are suddenly gone.
⑫ Suddenly a kid → You're a kid again! Have fun with that second childhood.
⑬ Fortune cookie → You've suddenly received a note with something that will happen in the future, either precise or vague.
⑭ Super power → And suddenly you're like Superman! Any power goes.
⑮ Bodyswap → Somehow you've changed bodies with the other person.
⑯ Back in time → Somehow, you wound up in the past again. Do you try to correct something or just sit and wait for time to jump? Maybe it jumps to various points in your life or maybe you actually think you're back in the day. Have fun, run wild with the idea!
⑰ To the future → Is it everything you've dreamed? Is it horrible? Whatever happens, you're here to witness what happens to you in the future. Either you take the place of your future self or you're just there to watch. Might cause some confusion if people start seeing double though...
⑱ Angels, mermaids, and fairies! → You're not necessary something dark or evil. You're just something different. How do you deal?
⑲ Locked in a closet → For some reason, you're locked up in a closet with someone else. Do you make nice and try to figure your way out or what?
⑳ Finger trap → You're caught in a Chinese finger trap... with somebody else! You can't figure out how to get loose either... have fun with that.

[...this is not Ebbot City. At all. For one, there are WAY too many monsters around.]

[Frisk had been making their careful way through downtown Zootopia, darting from hiding spot to hiding spot and adroitly keeping out of the way of mammals both big and small. No one seems to have realized they're a human yet, but they have gotten odd looks as they dash through the crowds. They haven't figured out much, other than that they must have been pulled into...a timeline where monsters won the war? There's something off about it, but that's the only explanation either they or Chara can come up with.]

[They've finally found an empty alleyway to hide in, and Frisk pulls out their phone to start fussing at it, hoping that they can get in contact with someone familiar. Maybe they can convince the Alphys here to help...]

[It isn't that Nick actually resents being sent to go find a missing kid (not necessarily of the goat variety - actually, the caller didn't specify what variety at all, and according to Clawhauser it sounded like they hadn't gotten a good enough look to be sure). Not every day can be all car chases and missing mammal investigations, and at least it's not parking duty.

But it still sounds pretty boring. Especially with Judy on a mandatory vacation.

The ZPD cruiser pulls up alongside the curb, and he confirms the street address before hopping out, flicking his aviators down to rest on his snout. Man, that never gets old. It doesn't take long to spot the kid cowering in the alleyway, and he makes his way over to crouch down in front of them.]

Hey, you doing okay there? 'Cuz, y'know, there are nicer places you could sit than in... an alleyway...

[Wait.

What is this kid?]

[Frisk yelps and jumps when Nick speaks, scrambling to catch their phone before it falls to the ground. Not that they have any fear of it breaking, but, you know. Habit. They blink up owlishly at the fox, frowning a little when he trails off in confusion.]

[* Smells like an idiot with cheap cologne.]

[Ignoring Chara's commentary, Frisk bites their lip.]

...I know. 'M just...lost.

[~~Well to be fair they're not wrong~~

Nick's mouth twists in a thoughtful frown. Then he pushes his shades back a little and squints at them slightly. Nope, still some kind of... somewhat deformed pig? He actually cannot tell.

Welp. One obvious way to handle this.

Avoid the subject as much as possible.]

Yeah? Well, uh. We can get on fixing that right away! [He does his best to give them an encouraging smile.] Did you get separated from your parents?

[Frisk chews on the inside of their lip while Nick peers at them, nervous but not really bothered by the confused look. They got plenty of those in the Underground, and it seems like it's only the fuzzy monsters around this city, anyway. He's probably never seen anyone like them before.]

[Of course, once he does start asking questions it's not really the easy ones, is it? This is gonna get awkward reeeeeeeeal fast.]

Um...yeah. I dunno where they are.

Huh, that's a real shame. But we can start looking for them right away!

[After a moment of hesitation, he holds out a paw. Given that he can't tell what they are, he doesn't know whether to expect them to shy away or not, but they haven't seemed too worried so far. Might as well give it a shot.]

What do your parents look like?

[What are they.]

[Far from shying away, Frisk smiles and takes the offered paw with only a little hint of shyness. He isn't yelling or calling for backup or anything, so he's probably safe.]

[* And then he'll pelt you with bullets once your back is turned.]

[* (No, he won't.)]

Uh...well, Sans is a skeleton, and Mom, um...

[Should they admit a connection to the royal family? But there might still be more boss monsters left, maybe it won't be so weird to be hon--]

She's a goat.

[* (CHARA!!)]

[He leads them carefully out of the alleyway, giving a couple gawkers meaningful glances and flashes of his badge. NOTHING TO SEE HERE.]

Oh, a... a skeleton, huh? That your dad? [So he's. Really skinny???

--Whoa okay what was that. He blinks in surprise, his ears twitching back involuntarily for a moment. The tone change alone would be worth noting, but... what happened to their eyes there. The logical assumption would be that he imagined it, but...

He frowns slightly, just for a moment, but it's gone in the next second. He'll just keep it in mind for now... and keep a closer eye on the kid. Speaking of which, at least he's got a species to go by now!

...Actually, he really hopes, for their sake, that they're adopted. Yeesh.]

Well, that's a good start! Where'd you last see 'em?

[Nooo, nothing at all, just a strange bald sloth that talks way too fast!]

[In the back of Frisk's mind there's a low chuckle as they both notice Nick's pause and wariness, and Frisk has to work very hard to not roll their eyes. Honestly.]

Well, Sans is my dunkle, but he an' Mom are dating so he counts. Dad doesn't live with me an' Mom, an' Mom doesn't like me callin' him that but she tries to be nice and not make it weird.

[Frisk starts flipping through their phone with one hand, trying to find a picture.]

We were at the park, and I went to go look at somethin' funny in the bushes an' the other side wasn't right. So I tried to crawl back through and that side wasn't right anymore, so I guess it was magic.

[On another plane of existence, a ghost facepalms.]

[Okay, stepdad! Good enough, the whole 'dunkle' thing must just be... a family thing?

...Maybe he's the dad who doesn't live with them's brother. That'd be awkward.

He frowns slightly, taking a few seconds to process all that.]

We can start heading for the park, then... what do you mean, it 'wasn't right'? You wind up in the wrong biome?

Um...I dunno? Alla th'--

[* DON'T SAY HUMANS.]

Alla th' people there were gone an' I didn't recognize anybody.

[Frisk frowns for a few moments before looking back up from their phone.]

What's a biome?

[He nods, glancing around to find the cruiser through the crowd and start leading them toward it. Yeah, they must've run into a hole in the barriers between districts... and then lost track of it somehow, he guesses.

He glances down at them, ears flicking in vague surprise. Huh, he would've guessed they would have at least heard the word before.] Uh... you know, the different environments for different kinds of mammals. Tundra Town, Savannah Square... what was the weather like where you were before?

[...mammals? Not monsters?]

Um.

[Thiiiiiis isn't good.]

Kinda like this...Mom was worried it was gonna rain, but it wasn't s'pposed to be a big chance.

[Maybe it's just...a different way of talking about the fuzzy folk! Yeah.]

Hmm...guess it was pretty temperate, then... do you know the actual name of the district?

[They... seem confused. Uh. This could get difficult.

Alright, Nick, stay calm, do your job. He clears his throat and stops in front of the cruiser, pulling the key out and unlocking the doors with the click of a button.]

It's gonna be a few minutes' drive to any parks from here; you ever ridden in a police cruiser?

[Frisk makes a few vague mumbles, trying to think of a response that won't get them locked up somewhere.]

Um...Ebbot...City?

[Nervous as they are, Frisk does cheer up a bit and shakes their head when Nick unlocks the car, climbing inside as soon as they're able and paying Chara's groaning and insistence they should just run now no mind.]

Nuh-uh! Are you gonna put the sirens on?

...Ebbot City?

[Uh. He's never even heard of any Ebbot City, definitely not one nearby. He gives a very slightly uncertain laugh.]

Those bushes must've taken you pretty far out of your way, then - this is Zootopia.

[He bows dramatically and ushers them into the car, then goes around to get in on the other side once the door's shut.]

Don't see why not! I'd say this qualifies as an emergency, after all.

Uh-huh. I kinda guessed.

[And they've never heard of a Zootopia--but then, if this is a different timeline, they probably wouldn't have.]

[* ...can we even LOAD back? It would be two weeks, but...]

[* (I don't wanna LOAD yet. We might be able to get back on our own.)]

[* If I see any scientist labs stuff, I'm gonna LOAD FOR you.]

[Frisk buckles themself in and grins, bouncing a little in their seat.]

Yeah, yeah! An' then we can go super fast, too! [That's totally how the sirens work, right?]

That's right! [Hey, as far as Nick is concerned, it might as well be. This kind of thinking miiight just be part of why Judy has been so reluctant to leave him on his own.

He pulls away from the curb, looking around to be sure there aren't any pedestrians to potentially run into before flicking on the siren.]

So, d'you remember which way you came from? Should probably check around at the park before heading down to the station.

[Frisk bounces excitedly in their seat, and even Chara's mood lifts a little hearing the siren go off and watching the traffic scramble to get out of their way.]

Oh! Ummmmm...we gotta go right up there, an' then there's a left a few streets further...

[Frisk's directions are pretty good, considering they've only been in the city for a few hours. A few detours need to be taken, due to Frisk sneaking through several alleys that the patrol car simply cannot get through, but after a very exact and circuitous route Frisk points ahead to a smaller park, with a few walking paths and not a whole lot else to it.]

This is where I got here! I crawled outta the bushes way in over there.

[Nick follows those roundabout instructions as well as he can, finally slowing to a stop by the park and...

...frowning a little because that can't be right??]

...You sure this is it? We're nowhere near any district divisions...

Uh-huh. 'M good at remembering paths.

[Frisk frowns and slides down a little in their seat, glancing nervously out the car window. Even Snowdin had a few non-fuzzy monsters, but Frisk hasn't seen a single one around here. And it's not like the place isn't pretty densely populated...]

Um. Is there any...um. S' there anyone around that looks like this?

[Quickly pulling up a picture on their phone, Frisk holds it over for Nick to look at. The main focus of the shot is Alphys and Undyne in all their scaled glory, laughing and leaning against each other and generally being incredibly adorable, and in the background Papyrus can be spotted hauling Sans off while Toriel cracks up over some joke the smaller skeleton had made.]

Huh...

[He leans over to check the picture, and just sort of... stops.

Those... there is maybe one mammal in that entire picture.

He gives a weak laugh.]

Uh... nice job on the editing or... whatever there, kid, but there're nobody like that around here.
