GENERAL RP MEME

Want to play something out with one of my characters? Well here's a place for that! Basically any kind of thread is welcome here, gen, action, AU, game setting, etc - preferably staying PG-13 at most.

Prose and brackets are both welcome; the prompts below are for kickstarting ideas if you want, but you definitely don't have to stick to them!

Let me know if you start a thread here, since I have it set not to email me.

ACTION.

② Bar brawl → You had one too many drinks, said something wrong, and now you're being asked to take it outside.
③ Chase → You're caught in a high speed chase.

⑤ Fight with a friend → You're fighting with a friend, all out.
⑥ Interrogation → You're being interrogated for some offense you've done.

⑩ No hope → You know this fight has no hope. It's not going to end well for anyone involved, but you can't turn away.
⑪ Sneaking in → You're stealing a diamond or sneaking in to kick some bad guy butt, but whatever it is, you have to practice stealth.
⑫ Fight for honor → You've been disgraced or someone you care about has, so it's time to fight for honor.
⑬ Blue wire → You're faced with a bomb that needs to be disarmed.
⑭ Apocalypse → The apocalypse finally happened and now you're left to scavenge and fight for whatever is left.
⑮ Sabotage → It's time to sabotage someone's plan! How is entirely up to you. Do you set up a bomb in their toilet? Do you double cross them at the last minute?
⑯ Big damn hero → You know you have to handle this one alone, so that means disarming or knocking unconscious the person who wants to join you.

⑪ I saw you → you saw the other person doing something bad and you need to confront them about it.
⑫ Sorry but no → the other person has feelings that you just don't share. They don't necessarily have to be romantic... maybe you just don't agree with their sudden desire to quit their job and start a business making tiny, fuzzy teddy bears.

⑧ Ghost → You're suddenly a ghost or at least invisible. What are you going to do with this new ability?
⑨ Awkward conversations → So did you just fart or what? Any conversation goes, as long as it's embarrassing and awkward.
⑩ Crossdressing → For whatever reason, you're suddenly dressed in clothes of the opposite sex.

⑰ To the future → Is it everything you've dreamed? Is it horrible? Whatever happens, you're here to witness what happens to you in the future. Either you take the place of your future self or you're just there to watch. Might cause some confusion if people start seeing double though...
⑱ Angels, mermaids, and fairies! → You're not necessary something dark or evil. You're just something different. How do you deal?
⑲ Locked in a closet → For some reason, you're locked up in a closet with someone else. Do you make nice and try to figure your way out or what?
⑳ Finger trap → You're caught in a Chinese finger trap... with somebody else! You can't figure out how to get loose either... have fun with that.

Kaworu had never really watched a movie. It's not that he was unfamiliar with cinema--it was one of the many forms of art and storytelling that the Lilim had created, unable to create themselves. He'd seen some television, a couple films--it was all fairly meaningless to him, though. Interesting, even beautiful for what it represented of the Lilim heart, but... he didn't really 'get' it.

Which probably didn't surprise anyone, because for all that Kaworu spent a great deal of effort exploring the lives and hearts of the Lilim, he didn't really 'get' much of any of it. Or at least... not the way others probably wished he would.

Meanwhile, though Bumblebee may have been missing a good few thousand years of cultural context, that didn't seem to stop him from getting really into Earth movies.

Here's hoping Kaworu didn't mind too much when the car he was in kept making excited whirring noises whenever something happened.

"Did you see that?" Yes, Bee, he saw it, he was right there. The Autobot emblem on the steering wheel flashed in time with his beeps and whirrs. "Those guys got completely scrapped!"

Gen 3, Ryslig because reasons

[personal profile] fourthscribe 2015-10-15 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
It was a somewhat stupid chain of events that had led Tanyuu to be making her slow way down the streets of Bavan tonight, but she really had no one to blame but herself. After finding herself so very far from her country home, surrounded by so much strangeness that it made even her head spin, she'd managed to find a place to live in Bavan off the kindness of some locals. But even hobbled as she was, her curiosity couldn't be sated staying inside and watching the world go by, so the very next day it was out she went.

It's tiring to walk around on her own for so long, and Tanyuu can tell from the aches of her body that she would pay for pushing herself too much tomorrow, but this place is so fascinating! The technology here is astounding, if somewhat frightening (she flinches every time a car goes whizzing by, and she still isn't sure how she feels about TVs), and the people are so alien to her even watching them go about their mundane lives is fascinating. She had spent a long time in the park just watching the humans and scattered monsters pass by, paying the latter even more attention. This can't be caused by mushi, can it? Certainly she remembers several parasitic types that brought a physical change to the host, but nothing so drastic as this.

However, as the light wanes and the candleless lights flickered to life, Tanyuu realizes she is...maybe a bit lost. She must have taken a wrong turn somewhere going back, because this certainly wasn't the right neighborhood. Pausing near a bench, she sighs and lowers herself onto it with a grimace of pain. Her foot throbs and her hand feels nearly numb from her grip on the crutch. She leans back and closes her eyes, catching her breath and trying to remember just which streets she had taken to get to the park. If she can trace her way back to one from this morning, it'll be a start.

GEN 9? I guess. Troll Fight

[personal profile] fanghunt 2015-10-16 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Killing is...gross. There really isn't any other way to put it, really. It's a horrible thing for anyone to ever want to do, even worse for someone who doesn't want to do it. Klaus had just finished enduring another one of those unfortunate episodes that some monsters experience fairly regularly. His hands were clean and it had been a few hours, but regardless, it still leaves him pretty shaken up on the inside. He's been living here for a while now, but the whole hunting issue has never been even remotely easy - he isn't sure what's more unsettling, the fact that a former protector of the populace back home was now killing people on a pretty routine basis, or the fact that there was a part of him that relished it.

However, another more welcome part of Klaus's killing routine is taking a long walk. Alone, usually as far away from the scene of the crime as he can pull himself. Tonight's destination is the cemetery, which is one spot that Klaus finds oddly comforting in this new reality of his. The headstones embody a reverence that he himself frequently feels after the deed is done - these are humans...people with families. Spouses and children, perhaps, friends, enemies. These people were respected after their deaths. Properly mourned. It's hard to put into words, but graveyards have an odd, serene energy to them, and on a clear night like this, it's the best place for a man to clear his head and get away for a while.

So here he is - a frankly enormous troll, obviously tired, wandering aimlessly among the stones, occasionally stopping to read the engravings or pay respects. It still feels like there's a swarm of bees buzzing about inside his skull, but at least out here it's fairly quiet.

Crunch.

His ears prick, and he pauses, staring out over the solemn field.

Crunch.

There it is again. Whatever "it" is. He's noticed at this point that he's not alone, and that this probably isn't just some animal that's wandered in. Curiosity gets the better of him; he makes his way between the graves, approaching the source of the sound - which appears to be a pale figure, hunched in front of one specific grave. Klaus doesn't have to get too close to notice the stones on this stranger's backside. Another troll. He clears his throat, the sound decidedly a little more raspy than normal, before stepping a little closer.

"Excuse my nosiness, but....what are you doing?"

onegreeneye: (oh well in that case)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-10-16 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
It's not until Klaus speaks up that Ginko even realizes he's there, and for a moment he wonders if he might be getting a little sloppy at keeping track of his surroundings. At least this guy doesn't sound hostile, so when Ginko flinches it's only from an instant's surprise before he turns around, his ears flicking slightly forward. The fact that it's another troll probably shouldn't be much of a relief, either, but the fact is, he considers that better than being caught by a well-meaning but misguided human, trying to look out for the dignity of those already dead.

"It's no trouble - I'm just... well. It's about what it looks like." There isn't much else to be said. He lifts the shovel in his hand slightly, the corner of his mouth twisting into a slight grimace. Gravedigging is never pleasant work, as preferable as it may be to the alternative. "Been needing to restock on meat."
onegreeneye: (i wasn't prepared for THIS)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-10-16 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Ginko is just heading out for the evening, making a mental list of everything he has to do tonight, planning and considering and prioritizing as always, when he happens to decide to head through the park. It's close to his usual route to get to the woods, anyway, and he's got relatively little work for once; might as well give up the extra few minutes.

He's not expecting it to make too much of a difference, beyond just being a nice change from his usual routine, and when he catches sight of a human sitting on a bench, he probably wouldn't look twice if he didn't catch sight of her crutch. At first, his glance back is just one of idle concern; this area is only going to get more dangerous for a human as the sun sets, especially one who may have trouble running away from a threat. But there isn't a whole lot he can do about that, not much he could reasonably say to a complete stranger--

He blinks, and then his eyes widen as he takes another look at the young woman and realizes just how wrong he was about part of that.

He's reluctant to move toward her too quickly - no doubt, she's heard of what happens to those who come here from other worlds, but... he doesn't know whether that will make his appearance seem less alarming or more.

In the end, worries aside, he ends up approaching her. Of course he does, he couldn't not. He stops just a couple feet away, his tails swishing around his legs, anxiety seeming to channel directly into motion.

"...Tanyuu Karibusa?"
fanghunt: (KLAUS is confused!)

[personal profile] fanghunt 2015-10-16 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
His immediate first response is simply a distracted "Hm." He knows that there are definitely some around here who have alternatives to killing, but this is definitely his first time to see one of these methods and, despite the morbidity of the situation, he can't help being a little intrigued. He opens his mouth to ask another question, hesitates, and changes his mind. This man is obviously busy exhuming whoever this unlucky human used to be - that idea bothers Klaus a little bit, but considering the circumstances he certainly can't blame him.

He debates leaving this man to his work, but somehow it seems rude to ask such a blunt question and then just leave. Besides, something about this stranger fascinates him. Not to mention this is his first real encounter with another troll.

"Would you like some help with this?" Klaus gestures to the grave. He knows how heavy a corpse can be, and there's a chance that some extra labor might help him further clear his head. "It doesn't look like you have an extra shovel on you, but I could assist with some lifting," he offers. "If you need it, that is."

It's not quite right to say Tanyuu is startled to hear that voice, but it's more than a little unexpected. Her eyes open again and she looks over, sucking in a sharp breath when she actually sees the mushi master. That Ginko would fall into a mess like this isn't quite so surprising, but it doesn't make her any less upset to see him in this state.

"Ginko?" Her back straightens and she leans forward, taking in the fur, claws...are those stones? And a tail of all things! Her brows crease with worry, and a small frown tugs at the corners of her mouth. "I'm not sure if I'm glad to see you here or not."

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-10-16 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
"I wish I could say the same..." He knows exactly how he feels about Tanyuu being here, and it's not good. She shouldn't be here - and, irrational though it might be, he finds himself thinking back to what happened to Adashino.

"You... just got here, didn't you?"
fourthscribe: (It's all a record of death)

[personal profile] fourthscribe 2015-10-16 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
She smiles with sympathy, knowing exactly how he must be feeling about this. It wouldn't be Ginko if he wasn't worrying. "Just a few days ago. It looks like you've been here a bit longer, though."
onegreeneye: (to be completely honest...)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-10-17 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
"...Yeah. Just a bit." His frown deepens and he glances away for a moment. Come to think of it...

"Do you remember how long ago it was that we last saw each other?"
fourthscribe: (Ginko did the thing didn't he)

[personal profile] fourthscribe 2015-10-17 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Hm? I'd...say four months or so. I had been considering sending you a letter, just to check up on how you were doing." Tanyuu casts Ginko an odd look, the gears already starting to turn in her head. "Has it been different for you?"
onegreeneye: (...)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-10-17 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
That recent? He nods, slowly and a little reluctantly.

"The way time passes here... it seems largely disconnected from the worlds that people are taken from. It had only been a few months since we last saw each other when I was first brought here, but I've been trapped on this peninsula for over a year."
fourthscribe: (If only I could use this leg)

[personal profile] fourthscribe 2015-10-17 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"A year?" That is surprising on multiple levels, not the least of which is the fact that anything could get Ginko to stay anywhere for more than a few weeks at a time. Not that he could ever really help that, but...still! "Let's hope that time stays slower back home. I hate to think what Tama would do if I went missing for that long."

A pause, then Tanyuu sighs. "Well, it can't be worse than what she'll do already, I suppose."

She frowns and glances around, even though she can't see the mushi lingering in the first place. "There hasn't been any trouble from you staying here for so long? Where have you been staying, anyway?" He better not be coming to the park to go to sleep...
onegreeneye: ([troll]i will smoke as much as i want)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-10-17 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"She might not even be aware of it... like I said, the flow of time is pretty odd here." And this is just one more reason to hope for that additional bit of oddness.

"Well... no. As unbelievable as it may sound, this place doesn't seem to have mushi. I haven't seen a single one the whole time I've been here."

He nods toward the city. "I've got an apartment in Bavan. Which I know must sound strange, coming from me, but... well, a few friends started getting mad at me for living in the woods. What about you, do you have somewhere to stay yet?"
fourthscribe: (Tell me more)

[personal profile] fourthscribe 2015-10-17 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
She nods with a faint smile. "Hm...it would be better if that is the case for us."

"None? But that's..." The word 'impossible' dies on her tongue; obviously it isn't at all, but the idea itself is so strange. "It's hard to believe."

A smile curls her lips, and a spark of amusement lights her eyes. So Ginko has found some friends here as well! That's definitely good to hear. "Some of the locals agreed to house me for a while, but it's not meant to be anything permanent. I'm...not sure which way to go to get back there, though." She laughs a little self-consciously. "I may have gotten a bit ambitious for my first outing like this."
onegreeneye: (hey look)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-10-18 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
"I had trouble processing it, too. But it's hard to deny at this point." A year ago, he would hardly have been able to comprehend the idea.

He nods, one ear flicking thoughtfully. "Do you remember what street it was on? Or any notable buildings nearby. I've... actually learned my way around pretty well."
fourthscribe: (Bring him in)

[personal profile] fourthscribe 2015-10-18 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Tanyuu can only imagine how much a lack of mushi must have thrown Ginko off--his whole life revolves around them, even more than her own does. "It must have been even more of a shock for you, not seeing them everywhere."

She nods and taps her chin as she thinks. "Yes, it was...Mayweather Road? No, Mayferry. I remember seeing a fueling station for those cars of theirs a few streets away; the sign had a spiraled seashell on it."
onegreeneye: (seriously tho)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-10-18 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Ginko shakes his head, waving Klaus off. "No, thanks - I've got it."

Under different circumstances, he might accept the offer; some help could certainly make things go faster, after all. Tonight, though, he just isn't in a particularly sociable mood. He can be polite, but he'd really rather just get this body out of the ground and go home.

Besides, he's never been a fan of having people watching him dig up graves if it isn't totally necessary.
fanghunt: (he's friendly i swear)

[personal profile] fanghunt 2015-10-18 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Are you sure?" He moves a little closer, concern and determination mixing in his expression. Maybe it's the white hair and fur, but something tells Klaus that this is a situation where he can use his strength for something good, rather than for its...intended purposes. Besides, the more he thinks about it, the more he find himself longing for some kind of physical exertion to help him unwind, and the repetition of digging sounds especially nice at the moment.

It's at this point that two pieces suddenly come together in his head. A white-furred troll with one green eye...he's definitely heard about this guy.

"You're Ginko, correct?" As if in an attempt to answer his own question, Klaus leans even closer to stare at his face, as if a closer look would confirm or deny this conclusion.
onegreeneye: (r:confused dog face)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-10-21 12:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yes, I'm pretty sure." He leans back a little, forcing himself to keep from scowling too much. He just wants to dig up a dead body alone in the middle of the night in peace, okay.

Okay, and now he can't help taking a slightly startled step back. It takes him a momet to process the question, but... well, he's not sure if this guy having heard of him is a good thing or a bad one. He hopes it's good, but around here he can never be sure.

"Uh-- yes, that's me." His expression reflects his uncertainty pretty clearly.
fanghunt: (yelling? wheezing???)

[personal profile] fanghunt 2015-10-21 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
As soon as the words leave Ginko's mouth, Klaus has made up his mind. He doesn't know terribly much about him as an individual, but he does know that Ginko is a caretaker, not to mention someone who has a pretty full load to deal with. There is no way that Klaus is going to let anyone literally work himself into the ground.

He straightens up, perhaps a little too quickly for someone of his stature. The wooziness induced by the fact that inertia isn't strong enough to move his blood and his head at the same speed only lasts a brief moment, but it's just enough to send him toppling into the grave, his landing punctuated by the dreadful sound of wood buckling.

Great job, Klaus. Now you're the one who's literally in the ground.
onegreeneye: ([troll]what the actual hell)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-10-24 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Oh for the love of--

So from Ginko's point of view, this guy asked to help him, insisted on helping him, got in his personal space, and then abruptly fell into a goddamn grave. The troll jumps back a little with a startled, gravelly sound that almost drowns out the sound of the casket breaking.

When he recovers from his surprise, he leans over the grave uncertainly, concern and vague frustration mixing on his face. "...Are you alright?"
onegreeneye: ([troll]i will smoke as much as i want)

[personal profile] onegreeneye 2015-10-31 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"...Yeah. Like I said, it was hard to process." It had taken him a few weeks to accept the situation - hell, when people first started changing, he had wondered at first if it might be the result of some sort of mushi after all.

He nods, looking around. The gas station is more of a hint than the street name, though he does have a vague memory of the name. "Yeah, I think I know what you're talking about... the station should be that way. We could start from there." He points with one clawed finger.

Smiling, Tanyuu takes her crutches in hand and carefully lifts herself back up to her feet. The design of them is different, but a little more supportive than the ones she had back home were. It's made it a little easier to get around on her own, but only by so much.

"Sounds like a good plan to me. Better than what I'd had before, at least." Which was to wander in what she hoped was the right direction and try to find something familiar. Getting herself balanced, Tanyuu makes her way over to Ginko. "Lead the way."
